How do I get a price?
Put your yard address and sack count on the home page. We show one all-in price. Freight is in it. You pay the invoice (ACH, check, or wire). We schedule the truck after your payment clears.

Do I need forks?
Yes. Super sacks come off a flatbed semi. You need a forklift, skid steer, or tractor with forks at the drop. No forks, the driver cannot leave the salt.
Is this same-day?
No. Not same-day. Next available truck. Order before the storm. Delivered to your yard.
How much does each sack weigh?
One ton. That is 2,000 pounds per super sack.
Can I order just a few sacks?
Primary pricing is a full truckload of 22 sacks. Local delivery comes out of Allendale, Michigan within about a 55-mile radius (about as far as Kalamazoo). Local 1–2 sacks: no trailer fee. Local 3–4 sacks: trailer is included in the all-in price. Cap is 4 sacks. Shop pickup is also available in Allendale. Outside the local radius, request a truckload.
What temperature does Purple Power work down to?
Down to about -35F.
What is Purple Power made of?
Rock salt treated with liquid calcium chloride, plus a purple dye so you can see it on the pavement after the pass.
Is it sidewalk safe?
Not meaningfully safer than regular rock salt. It is primarily rock salt that has been treated.
Can super sacks sit outside?
Yes, if they stay unopened. Each sack has a plastic liner inside a fabric outer. Once you open a sack, cover it or moisture gets in.
Do I need a hoop tent or bulk pad?
No. Super sacks are for yards that want out of bag salt without a hoop tent or concrete bulk pad. Park the sack. Dump into the spreader when you need it.
How do I get salt into the spreader?
Each sack has a quick-release bottom. Open it over the hopper and dump. No hoop tent required.
Do I use less than plain white rock salt?
Usually yes. The calcium chloride treatment gives more melt power, so many crews use about 20 to 30 percent less than untreated white salt. It also bounces less, so more of it stays where you put it.
Can I pick up at the shop in Allendale?
Yes. Shop pickup in Allendale, Michigan for 1 to 4 sacks. You get one all-in price per sack. Inbound freight into the yard is already in that number. No free bare-sack price.
